FAQ

What are they made of?

A mix of real-touch and silk, chosen so no two blooms have the same finish. That's what keeps her reading like a garden instead of a display.

Are these preserved flowers?

No. Preserved flowers are real flowers that eventually give up. These were never real, so there's nothing to give up.

How do I take care of them?

Dust them now and then. That's it.

What if they get dusty?

A soft makeup brush, or a hairdryer on cool from a few inches away. For the vessel, a damp cloth.

Does the sun affect them?

Direct sun over a long stretch will soften the color a little — the greens go a touch more muted. Nothing wilts, nothing droops. A week in the sukkah won't touch her.

What if a stem comes out?

Push it back in. If you feel like it, play with the shape while you're there — give the hydrangeas a fluff.

Can I put one in my sukkah?

Yes. Eight days outdoors, no water, heat and wind — she comes back in looking the same.

Will it look exactly like the photo?

Close, not identical. Each one is built by hand, so the shape and the placement shift slightly piece to piece.

Do you take custom orders?

No — the arrangements on the site are what's available. Each one is designed as a whole, and swapping stems changes the piece. For a simcha or a large table, email me at silksandpetals@gmail.com.

Where do you deliver?

Local delivery only — Brooklyn and the surrounding area, $10 flat. If your address doesn't come up at checkout, email me at silksandpetals@gmail.com. We can usually arrange a car, at cost.
